To live our partnership values and brand, we have worked closely in partnership with Sutton Smith Limited and have formed a Limited Liability Partnership called the Centre for Partnership. Since 2006, the Centre for Partnership has worked with around 40 organisations operating in housing, health and education sectors to support the creation of sustainable partnerships. The Partnership Standard © was developed as a benchmark to demonstrate that a partnership between organisations is able to deliver a service that surpasses what the individual organisations are able to provide.
Some of our successful partnerships are:
· Firebird JVC: a partnership set up in 2006, brought together with Accent, Leeds Federated Housing Association, Manningham Housing Association and Unity Housing Association.
The partners all have the same equity holding in Firebird JVC which exists to secure development funding for building new affordable homes in Bradford and Leeds. Since its creation the partnership has successfully secured funding which has increased the supply of affordable homes in the region.
· The Leeds Bradford Corridor Partnership was conceived in 2007 to participate in the Housing Corporation’s Challenge Funding competition to secure funding for new affordable housing.
The scheme made a significant impact on unemployment in the communities involved. The partnership brought together the Leeds and Bradford local authorities, together with Accent and West North West Homes Leeds’ ALMO.
· The Holme Wood Partnership was formalised in February 2009. Members of the Partnership Board have been drawn from Incommunities, Bradford Council, the local Community Council and local residents.
The Vision of the Partnership is to work with stakeholders and agencies to ensure that local people are actively involved in ensuring that Holme Wood is a desirable place in which to live, work and invest in the future, having regard to Bradford Council’s Local Development Framework Plan.
The Centre for Partnership has now developed two more standards to assist organisations in improving key aspects of organisational effectiveness.
The current standards are:
The Partnership Standard ©
The Governance Standard ©
The Leadership and Coaching Standard ©
The standards have been endorsed by the National Housing Federationand Trowers and Hamlins solicitors and lead to accreditation for the organisations that are assessed against them.
