Local housing association gets ‘green light’ from regulator.
Bradford based Incommunities Group Ltd has retained a full set of green traffic lights from Government agency the Housing Corporation, following an assessment completed recently. The Housing Corporation is the Government’s funder and regulator of housing associations in England.
Every housing association owning or managing more than 1000 homes has its performance assessed by the Housing Corporation against three key criteria, Governance, Management and Financial Viability. A “traffic light” rating of Red, Amber or Green is given against each area, with Green as the top rating. Three Green lights demonstrates that the association has met or exceeded the required standard across all the categories which are assessed.
Mick Warner, The Housing Corporation's Deputy Director of Regulations – North and West Midlands, said: “We are very pleased to announce that Incommunities Group has retained three green lights in its latest Housing Corporation Assessment. This demonstrates that they have successfully met or exceeded the standards set across all three key performance areas needed to ensure the quality of the services they offer to the people of Bradford"
Geraldine Howley, Group’s Chief Executive of Incommunities said: “These are exciting times for Incommunities following our rebranding to create a strong single identity which shows our commitment to put communities and people at the heart of everything we do. I am delighted that the Housing Corporation assessment recognises we are delivering on the promises we made to our customers at stock transfer and are in good shape to meet the challenges ahead.
The assessment highlights the good progress we are making in key areas. This includes our multi million pound improvement programme to local homes which continues on track, the good balance of skills and expertise on our boards, our commitment to tenant involvement and equality and diversity, as well as our work to improve local services such as Bradford Homehunter, our award winning choice-based lettings scheme.
We will continue to move forward and work to deliver our vision of providing homes of 1st choice, to be an employer of 1st choice and be a partner of 1st choice.”
Martin Smith, Group Chairman of Incommunities said: “I am delighted that we have again retained our full set of green lights. The positive assessment reflects the contribution made by board and committee members, customers, staff and our partners in working together to improve services and performance.
“Everyone is focused on taking the organisation forward and delivering first class customer services.”
