Incommunities continues to recruit for the future

4 August 2009

Seven new construction trainees are starting with Incommunities as part of their annual apprenticeship intake.

They are Tammy Scott (31 years old), Lindsey Raynor (29), Leighton Ruff (16) and Jordan Marshall (16) who have all joined as electrical apprentices; Daniel Clegg (18) who will train as a plumber and Jake Hargate (20) and Daniel Thompson (19) who will train as painting and joinery apprentices.

The new starters will gain valuable experience working with experienced tradesmen from buildingservices and propertysolutions on day-to-day repairs, home refurbishments and adaptations.  One day a week they will attend college to work towards NVQ construction qualifications in their particular trade area.

Delroy Beverley, Director of Incommunities – propertysolutions, said: “We are delighted with the high calibre of our latest apprentice intake including two new female apprentices.

“We received over 300 applications for our apprenticeship programme and this reflects the organisation’s high standing as a leading construction ‘player’. It is a further testament to our proactive campaign to promote our apprenticeship programme across our communities and in schools. The programme also shows our commitment to help address areas of under-representation in the construction sector.”

Greg Robinson, Director of Incommunities – buildingservices, said: “Everyone across the organisation is pleased to welcome the apprentices on board.

“Incommunities is delivering a massive regeneration programme and handles thousands of repairs every month. It means each apprentice will benefit from a diverse and high quality training programme combining work-based experience and college learning. I wish them all the best as they embark on their new careers.”

It takes the number of modern construction apprentices with Incommunities to 28. They cover plumbing, joinery, plastering, electrical work, painting and decorating and masonry.
