Incommunities estate staff in training success

6 August 2009

The staff, who all work for the housing group’s estate and support services, followed a specially tailored training programme to develop their supervisory and team building skills.

Each charge hand leads an area-based team of cleaners and environmental operatives working on keeping communal areas and neighbourhoods clean and tidy.

Their training was developed by Tyro Training – the commercial training division of Craven College – working with Incommunities managers and learning and development staff.

On Friday (7 August) each charge hand will be presented with their Institute of Leadership and Management (ILM) level II supervisory qualification.

Geraldine Howley, Incommunities Group Chief Executive said: “The training was specially designed to equip the staff with the tools to develop in their jobs and improve the quality of local services to our customers.

“Incommunities is committed to investing in our workforce and this important training is another step towards our vision to be an employer of 1st choice.

“With the support of Tyro Training the programme has been a great success and the feedback from the staff taking part has been extremely positive.”

The staff who completed the qualification are; Andrew Briggs, Andy Capstick, Andrew Clarke, Adrian Gamble, Chris Gallon, Gareth Ledgard, Karen Moss, Steve Pilkington, Martin Scatliffe, Damian Williams and Shirley Windsor. David Carroll also passed but has since left the organisation.
