Over 4,500 tenants are now signed up to BCHT’s trust loyalty card (tlc) rewards scheme.
The scheme offers great savings at top high street stores, discounts in local restaurants and attractions and entry to free competitions.
Members can also apply for education grants to help towards the cost of training courses, community chest grants towards local projects and receive discounts on the Trust’s Handyman Scheme.
The tlc scheme was first piloted to BCHT tenants in 2005 with a launch in the West City area. It has since been rolled out to BCHT customers across the district.
Ian Simpson, Assistant Chief Executive, Business Services and Development said: “The trust loyalty card scheme is all about rewarding good tenants, such as people who keep up to their rents and allow gas service engineers access to do their annual home checks.
“It’s great to see the tlc membership grow month by month and at the same time see more shops and businesses joining the scheme.
“We are committed to improving the quality of life of our tenants and the tlc scheme is a great way of offering a range of ‘value added’ benefits. It is also a good way of recognising and celebrating the work of inspiring local people through tlc’s ‘Nominate a Neighbour’ award scheme.”
tlc cardholder Susan Burke of Bradford recently won a digital camera in a free to enter competition for members and said: “The tlc scheme is a great idea and winning the camera was fantastic. I’m making good use of it to help set up my own business.”
Earlier this year, Patrick Winup of Farish House in Keighley put forward two fellow residents, Mr and Mrs Sayer, for a Nominate a Neighbour prize for their hard work in brightening up the sheltered scheme with flowers and hanging baskets. They received a certificate and flowers from the local warden.
He said: “The tlc Nominate a Neighbour scheme is a great way of recognising the efforts of residents who show pride in where they live.”
In the Autumn, the tlc scheme was rolled out to BCHT employees and over 800 staff have so far joined.
The tlc scheme is run in partnership with Countdown, one of the country’s leading incentive and loyalty card companies.
BCHT tenants who still haven’t taken advantage of tlc membership can apply by contacting their local housing office or ringing 01274 254799 for an application form.
