New on line housing service goes ‘live'

Incommunities has launched a one-stop customer friendly website – http://www.openmoves.co.uk - all about its new open moves service.
 
open moves was launched in the Autumn and offers a package of housing options and more to meet the needs of different customers. These include young people, people with disabilities, people looking to move home or looking for work and families and people needing specialist housing support.
 
The website is easy to use and covers the six different areas which make up open moves. These are:-
 
able living – specialist support for people with disabilities and people suffering ill health including a home adaptation service
advice – a specialist housing advice service for people needing urgent support such as anyone facing repossession of their home or worried about debt problems
open field – a package of employment, training and business start-up advice for unemployed people
supported living – specialist tenancy support including providing access to drugs and alcohol agencies
tcoy  – a housing service for young people aged 16 to 25 offering one-to-one personal support.
bradford homehunter – a choice-based lettings scheme for people looking for the right home for them
 
Pam Bennett, Director of Incommunities - housing access and advice said: “Our new open moves website opens the door to a range of services to help people make the next move in their lives.”
 
“As well as accessing bradford homehunter and making bids for homes of their choice, customers can find out more about private rented homes that are available locally and much much more.
 
“The website provides information for people needing help finding work or accessing training, money management advice and housing advice for young people.
 
Councillor Adrian Naylor, Executive Member for Regeneration and Economy said: “We are delighted that Incommunities are introducing this new website which gives their customers the opportunity to access a range of housing option services online and help build better lives for themselves.”
  
 
open moves is run in partnership with Bradford Council and brings together the expertise of local agencies including the Bradford City Centre Project, CHAS Housing Aid and Jobcentre Plus.
 
Customers can also get one to one advice by popping along to the open moves one-stop centre at City House on Cheapside, Bradford or the service’s Keighley base at 6-14 Devonshire Street (both offices are open Monday to Friday). Alternatively, customers can call 0845 141 6666 and speak to an open moves adviser.
