Re: Short Notice Inspection
Geraldine Howley, Incommunities Group Chief Executive said: “We are delighted that following a recent Audit Commission inspection (10-12 November 2009) of some of Incommunities housing services they concluded that the organisation ‘has more strengths than weaknesses’
“Overall the report shows that we have made significant progress since being formed in 2003 when we managed one of the biggest stock transfers in the country.
“As an organisation we have faced many challenges not least the transformation of our repairs service into a more responsive customer service. I am pleased that the report recognises the excellent performance the repairs service is achieving and that it is exceeding national targets. This means our customers are getting a quicker and better service than ever before.
“The report also highlights the very good progress we have made in ensuring our customers gas appliances are serviced annually. Current performance shows that this covers 99.6 per cent of homes. This demonstrates our commitment to ensure the safety of all our tenants and their homes.
“Providing value for money and delivering service efficiencies through developing new ways of working was another key strength identified in the inspection.
“We are now focusing on making improvements in other key areas. These include cutting the time taken to re-let empty properties, gathering a better picture of our customers needs to ensure our services are delivered fairly and improve the way we handle customer complaints.
“Over the coming weeks we will be working with our customers to draw up an action plan to make sure that, where needed, improvements will be made for the benefit of our customers.
“Incommunities remains strong and focused on delivering our vision to provide homes of 1st choice and be an employer and partner of 1st choice.”
