Incommunities flats set for TV starring role

3 March 2009

This week (Thursday, 5 March) a block of 1960s built flats at Bingley will provide the period backdrop for filming of the forthcoming series of the nostalgic TV drama, Heartbeat.

Programme makers will turn the clock back at Adelaide House ready for the filming by covering up modern signs and metal bins and adding their own temporary props.

In the scene being shot, two of the programmes stars Joe McFadden (who plays PC Joe Mason) and Rupert Ward-Lewis (playing PC Don Wetherby) are in their panda car watching a suspect leave the flats.

The ‘Heartbeat’ filming plans were agreed with the local residents group and Incommunities – area-wharfe office.

Zabair Rasul, Director of Incommunities – aire-wharfe office said: “We are delighted the filming is taking place at the flats thanks to the support of the Crosley Wood Tenants and Residents Association.

“The production crew have been very helpful including liaising with the tenants group and writing to all residents at the flats. Everyone is looking forward to watching the filming and seeing some of the stars from Heartbeat.”

Verna White, Chair of the Crosley Wood Tenants and Residents Association said: “Everyone is looking forward to the filming. This is such a lovely area and it’s a real boost to get this interest.”

The filming will start from around 4pm and finish at about 7.45pm. It is due to feature in an episode to be shown later this year.
