Incommunities provides services to people living in more than 22,000 homes across the Bradford District – including over 1,000 homeowners. As one of our homeowner or leaseholder customers, it is important that we know about your needs so that we can tailor our services to meet them.    To make sure everyone has fair and equal access to our services we have sent you an everybody counts homeowner census form with the spring edition of your @home newsletter at the end of March 2009.

As a homeowner or leaseholder customer you will have received a different version of the census form to our tenants. This is because we need to collect different information from our tenants and from our homeowner or leaseholder customers as we provide different types of services to these customer groups.

The census form you have received contains lots of questions about you and your needs. The census is very important because it will give us up-to-date information on what your needs are and how we can meet them. Some of the questions (all of those in part 5 of the homeowner census form) only apply if you live in the property you own. This is because we may need to provide you with services in a different way if you are living there; this would not be the case if you sub-let the property. The census form has clear instructions in it so you know which parts you need to complete and which you don’t depending on your circumstances. You can access a copy of the everybody counts homeowner census by following this link.

The information that you give us by completing the homeowner census form will help us to adapt our services appropriately to meet your needs. For example, this may mean contacting you by phone rather than in writing or arranging for documents to be sent in large print. The everybody counts homeowner census is your chance to tell us how we can provide the best service for you!

We also want to make sure all groups can access our services and that we are delivering them fairly. To do this we have asked for specific information about your ethnic origin, your religion, your sexual orientation and so on. This information will be used only for monitoring. We understand that some of the information we are asking for is very personal; we will treat all sensitive personal information confidentially and it will be stored in accordance with the Data Protection Act.   If there are any questions that you do not want to answer, then there is a ‘Prefer Not to Say’ option. However, please provide us with as much information as you can as it is important to remember that we cannot change the way we do things if you do not tell us what your needs are.

We are expecting you to have questions about the census and why we are asking for so much information from you, including the information which is very personal. Obviously, you will want to know why we are asking for this and what we want to do with it. To help answer the questions you may have we have prepared some answers to Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs). You can follow this link to view the everybody counts census Frequently Asked Questions and answers. If you have a question that we have not answered in our FAQs please email everybodycounts@incommunities.co.uk or telephone your local Incommunities office. Incommunities office contact telephone numbers are listed at the bottom of the page.

If you have any specific queries about the homeowner census as a homeowner or leaseholder customer then please speak to a member of the Leasehold Team on 01274 254275. This number should only be used for homeowner/leaseholder queries.
