Cleaning and caretaking services are provided in some estate areas.  Where such services are provided a service charge is made which covers the cost of providing that service.  Click the links below

We provide a cleaning and caretaking service Monday to Thursday 8.00am to 4.30pm and Friday 8.00am to 4.00pm within multi-storey and low rise walk up blocks. 

We do not provide a cleaning service on bank holidays, but those walk up blocks who are scheduled a weekly clean which will fall on a bank holiday will receive a scheduled clean within 3 working day’s prior/after the bank holiday to maintain our service standards.

We aim to:        [top]                                                                                                                                                                                                 

‘Provide a consistent safe, clean and tidy environment for customers who live either within Multi-storey accommodation, Low Rise walk up blocks. Presently we provide a service to over 196 sites and this service is provided by a mixture of mobile clean teams and on site staff.

Staff wear uniforms with our logo on them and are responsible for the general cleanliness of the estate. They have schedules of work to complete every day such as sweeping and mopping corridors, litter picking and dealing with bulk and domestic refuse.

Whilst we aim to maintain cleaning standards within communal areas to their best possible condition, we ask residents and visitors to support us in this aim and abide by their tenancy agreement which states:

‘You and everyone who lives with you must help make sure that any communal areas are kept clean, tidy and clear of any obstruction’

 

What are my responsibilities as a customer?       [top]                                                                                                                                

          • Ensure that all rubbish is disposed of down communal chutes or bin stores and not left on landings/pathways. 
          • Dispose of litter responsibly 
          • Treat communal areas with respect and report anti-social behaviour 
          • Not smoke in communal areas

What does the Estate Services Cleaning and Caretaking Service provide      [top]                                                                              

The range of cleaning and caretaking tasks which should be undertaken at each site are detailed within the cleaning activity schedule which are displayed within the foyer/entrance hall of the block, we also clearly define our services within our customer service standard.

Cleaning and caretaking services within multi-storey blocks (over 6 floors)      [top]                                                                           

If you live in a block of high rise flats of six floors or more we will:

          • Sweep and mop the ground floor entrances, lifts and chute rooms every working day. 
          •Sweep and mop stairs and landings, and wipe down handrails every week. 
          •Remove litter from entrances, stairwells and lifts every working day. 
          •Wipe down doors in communal areas and paint work to remove grime and dirt weekly. 
          •Remove racist or abusive graffiti/fly posting within one working day; and remove other graffiti/fly posting within
               5 working days of being identified 
          •Remove bodily waste and drug litter within 1 working hour of being identified 
          •Pick up litter to outside areas of the block daily including play areas 
          •Remove bulk refuse from bin stores within 1 working day of being identified or liaise with Bradford Council to remove. 
          •Sweep clothes drying areas monthly between April to October

          • Sweep and mop communal areas and sweep out bin stores weekly 
          • Wipe down communal doors and clean glass weekly 
          • Wipe down handrails weekly 
          • Pick up litter from outside areas once a week 
          • Remove bulk refuse from bin stores within 1 working day of being identified or liaise with Bradford Council to remove. 
          • Remove bodily waste and drug litter within 1 working hour of being identified. 
          • Remove racist or abusive graffiti/fly posting within one working day; and remove other graffiti/fly posting within 
                 5 working days of being identified.

Cleaning and Caretaking Service Standard Inspections      [top]                                                                                                                 

 To ensure that we are meeting our obligations within the cleaning and caretaking service standard we will monitor our sites on a monthly basis displaying our findings within the notice boards displayed in the foyer/entrance ways of our blocks.

If a specific site fails to meet our service standard the supervisor will highlight the cleaning elements that need more attention and endeavour to put steps in place to address any key concerns where possible.
