Your tenancy agreement is a signed legal contract between you and us. It gives certain rights to both you as our tenant and to us as your landlord. For example, you have a right to live in your home and we have a right to receive rent from you for this.
As a new customer you'll receive a 'Starter Tenancy' agreement which covers the first twelve months of you living in one of our homes.
During your first twelve months, your Neighbourhood Housing Officer will arrange to visit you at least 3 times during this period. During these visits, they'll look at the condition of your home, check your rent payments, check to see if you're following the rules in your tenancy agreement and find out about any concerns that you may have.
If you're finding it difficult to manage your home, they'll try and support you and offer ways in which we can help.
Please do allow us to visit you, otherwise we may have to look at extending your Starter Tenancy period. If you can manage your home, pay your rent on time and follow the rules during the first twelve months, then we may move you on to an 'Assured Periodic Tenancy' giving you more rights.
For full terms and conditions and details of your responsibilities, please read your tenancy agreement.
