On the 9th of July, we held our very first Big Conversation door-knock. We visited seven areas of the Bradford district: Bankfoot, Fagley, Greengates, Great Horton, Holmewood, Keighley, Ravenscliffe.
We focused on 4 main questions:
Describe your neighbourhood in one word
What do you like most about your neighbourhood?
What would you like to see improved in your neighbourhood?
Do you feel safe in your neighbourhood?
What you told us about your neighbourhoods…
What you like
It's quiet
There's a community spirit
We have good neighbours
We like being close to family
There's good transport links
What needs improving
Less anti-social behaviour
Reduce speeding cars, bikes, and e-scooters
Less fly-tipping and litter
More activities for younger people
Reduce crime
What next?
We're using what you've told us to build specific plans for each neighbourhood, with clear actions and responsibilities.
New CCTV cameras will be installed in fly-tipping hotspots.
We're strengthening our relationships with key partners, such as local Councils and police and fire services to discuss key findings and agree actions.
