The Big Conversation
On the 9th of July, we held our very first Big Conversation door-knock. We visited seven areas of the Bradford district: Bankfoot, Fagley, Greengates, Great Horton, Holmewood, Keighley, Ravenscliffe.
We focused on 4 main questions:
- Describe your neighbourhood in one word
- What do you like most about your neighbourhood?
- What would you like to see improved in your neighbourhood?
- Do you feel safe in your neighbourhood?

What you like
- It's quiet
- There's a community spirit
- We have good neighbours
- We like being close to family
- There's good transport links
What needs improving
- Less anti-social behaviour
- Reduce speeding cars, bikes, and e-scooters
- Less fly-tipping and litter
- More activities for younger people
- Reduce crime
What next?
- We're using what you've told us to build specific plans for each neighbourhood, with clear actions and responsibilities.
- New CCTV cameras will be installed in fly-tipping hotspots.
- We're strengthening our relationships with key partners, such as local Councils and police and fire services to discuss key findings and agree actions.
