Fly Tipping

We know that fly tipping causes a lot of problems. It makes where you live untidy and once some rubbish has been dumped, often it will lead to more and more rubbish appearing. It also causes problems with rats and mice.

If you notice any fly tipping on Incommunities land, please report it to us as soon as possible. You can report fly tipping to us by filling out the form at the bottom of this page.

We won't remove fly tipping from land that belongs to local councils, but we will let them know about it. You can report fly tipping to Bradford Council  and Kirklees Council.

What is Fly Tipping

Examples of fly tipping are:

  • Leaving waste next to wheelie bins

  • Throwing cut grass and bushes over walls and fences

  • Bulky items that are left in communal areas, like mattresses, fridges and general waste.

Other ways to get rid of your waste

Wheelie Bins

All homes will have wheelie bins for general waste and recycling and most household rubbish will fit in the wheelie bins if it is put into the right bin. To check what waste you can put in your recycling bin have a look at your councils website:

If you don't have a wheelie bin please let your Neighbourhood Housing Officer know or give us a call on 0330 175 9540.

Council Tips

You can take your rubbish to council tips for free and this includes going to the tip in a van. When you arrive at the tip you will need to show your permit. If you have lost your permit you can get another one, for free. To find out how to get a new permit, have a look at the council's website.

Bulk Waste Collection

Most councils will remove large items of rubbish which won't fit in your wheelie bin, like mattresses, fridges and washing machines. They will normally charge for this and you will need to leave the items outside your home.

If you and your neighbour have waste that you need to get rid of, could you book the collection as one and share the cost?

Wiser Recycling

Wiser Recycling work in partnership with Bradford Council and WEEE Link to recycle your unwanted electrical items. They charge for recycling the items but it is cheaper than the councils cost.

Donating to Charity

If you have good quality items that you no longer need, have you thought about donating them to a charity? They will often pick up the items for free, from your home too.
