Incommunities set to deliver five-year investment programme

Graeme Scott Incommunities

Over the next five years, social housing landlord Incommunities has committed to deliver investment works to homes across the region to the value of £120 million.

To deliver the projects, Incommunities is working with key partners IAG Mechanical Ltd, Wates Property Services and EQUAN Regeneration – all of whom have also committed to supporting community-based activities.

Incommunities is working with these partners across the region to drive economic growth, support grassroots community activities and provide education and training opportunities for local people. These key suppliers will support Incommunities’ social purpose by investing in Bradford and they will be looking to recruit 24 apprentices between them and deliver 50 school events to strengthen pathways for school leavers into construction.

In addition, twelve work placements will be offered to support customers to get into work and the aim is for seven new permanent jobs to be created within the Bradford District.

The housing improvement projects that are to begin shortly include kitchen and bathroom replacements, heating upgrades, re-wiring and also work to improve the fabric of the building including new windows, doors and roofs.

Graeme Scott, Executive Director Development said “We’re delighted to be working with Wates, Equans and IAG Regeneration on these vital projects to improve homes for our customers. These contracts are key to enabling us to deliver on our two-year plan and provide homes and communities that customers are proud to live in.

“Social value is one of our core strategic priorities and is at the heart of everything we do at Incommunities - making a difference to peoples’ lives across Yorkshire.”

Adam Cheshire, IAG Mechanical Ltd said “We are really proud to be part of such a great project and we are fully committed to supporting Incommunties with delivery across the Bradford district. As a Bradford based company, we are passionate about investing in our local community and providing opportunities for the people of Bradford.”

Paul Taylor, Wates said “Our partnership with Incommunities is an amazing opportunity for us to showcase the quality works we provide to improve and maintain residents’ homes.

“Supporting the growth and development of communities through working with local businesses, schools and colleges is at the heart of everything we do and an important part of leaving a positive legacy on the communities in which we work.”

Sean Corcoran, Regional Director at Equans, said: “We’re really proud to have been chosen by Incommunities to help make their homes warmer and more modern, which I’m sure will make a real difference to residents.

“Leaving a lasting legacy and a positive social impact in the local community is at the core of what we do, so we’re looking forward to supporting the next generation of construction talent as part of our work on this programme.”
