We’ve Signed the LGBTQ+ Housing Pledge

We’re proud to announce that we’ve signed the LGBTQ+ Housing Pledge through Stonewall Housing.
This pledge is more than just words, it’s a commitment to creating safe, inclusive, and welcoming homes for LGBTQ+ residents. We know that feeling truly at home means being able to be yourself, and we’re taking meaningful steps to make that a reality for everyone.
The LGBTQ+ Housing Pledge is a national initiative inviting housing providers to stand up for inclusion and support. It’s built on feedback from LGBTQ+ residents nationwide who’ve shared that they sometimes feel unable to express their true selves, especially during home visits from staff or contractors. We’re listening, and we’re acting.
By signing this pledge, we’re joining a growing movement to:
- Champion LGBTQ+ inclusion across our services
- Promote respectful and affirming interactions with all residents
- Create spaces where everyone feels seen, heard, and valued
Hear from Jess, one of our customers, about what this pledge means to them.
“I think it’s brilliant that Incommunities has signed up to the LGBTQ+ Housing Pledge. The more I’ve looked into it, the more I’ve realised, it’s not just a badge or a statement. It’s about really listening to LGBTQ+ customers, understanding our experiences, and making real changes that matter. That kind of commitment means a lot.
My hopes and aspirations for Incommunities signing the LGBTQ+ Housing Pledge are rooted in a shared goal, to strengthen awareness and build lasting connections across our tenants, workforce, and subcontractors. But this isn’t just about Incommunities. It’s about inspiring change across all housing associations in the UK, now and for future generations. Together, as proud members of the LGBTQ+ community and our allies, we stand united in creating inclusive, supportive spaces for everyone. Thank you, on behalf of the LGBTQ+ community.”
