Housing group in New Year boost for children’s heart unit

Kind hearted Incommunities’ workers have given an amazing £1000 to support the vital work of the Children’s Heart Surgery Unit in Leeds.

Colleagues from the group’s Asset Management and Building Services team raised the sum with a big raffle of Christmas gifts donated by partners and suppliers.

This week, Incommunities’ Assistant Chief Executive (Asset Management), Angela Perry, handed over a big cheque to Ben Andrews, Corporate Fundraiser for the Children’s Heart Surgery Fund.

The Fund supports children and young adults with heart conditions across the region and relies on the generous donations made by organisations and the public.

Angela Perry said: "Every year, we run a fundraising Christmas raffle and donate the sum raised to a local charity.

"The Children’s Heart Surgery Fund was chosen as beneficiaries in a staff vote of local charities.

"We are very proud to make this donation in support of the unit’s life changing work caring for both children and their families."

Sharon Coyle, Chief Executive of the Children’s Heart Surgery Fund, said: "We are delighted to receive this generous donation from Incommunities.

"This contribution will go directly to the vital work of the unit in ensuring our young patients are given the best possible chance of survival and support for their families every step of the way."
