Awards Round-Up: Celebrating Excellence

The hard work and dedication of some of our colleagues, customers and Board members has been recognised recently in a deluge of awards shortlists.

We’re delighted to announce that Kanika Selvan, who is a member of our Board has been shortlisted in the Women in Housing Awards, Board/committee member of the year category.

Whilst two of our teams have been shortlisted in the Housing Heroes Awards, Team of the year - 15,000+ homes category. The Allocations team have gone over and above to make sure that new customers are provided with homes suitable for their specific needs as quickly as possible.

And the Customer Voice team, who have improved the complaints handling performance, strengthened relationships with 15 community partners, and had huge success increasing the number of engaged customers by providing lots of ways for people to get involved. The feedback has been used to influence how services are provided.

The results for both of the Women in Housing and the Housing Heroes Awards will be confirmed on 24th June.

Further accolades are up for grabs at the Northern Housing Awards 2024, where two of our customers have been shortlisted in the Tenant of the Year category.

Andy is the founder and manager of the Sandale Trust, a community organisation offering a wide range of support and activities for people in one of Bradford’s most deprived areas.

And Flavia Nabasunda who works as an Administrative Assistant at a centre that helps asylum seekers and immigrants access support services. Alongside her day job, Flavia is also a key part of Incommunities Building Safety Residents Group, making sure that customers’ views influence how the landlord ensures the safety of residents in its high-rise buildings.

More of our teams have also been recognised at the Northern Housing Awards, in the Team of the Year category.

The Community Safety Team who, over the past 12-months, have made huge strides in making our communities and the customers within them feel safe.

Their collaborative working with CCTV, Mediation and Neighbourhood Services has already had extremely positive results in dealing with Anti-Social Behaviour.

The team has also been successful in supporting West Yorkshire Police to take stronger action when appropriate, as the ultimate aim is to support our communities to improve and provide safer environments for customers.

The Customer Voice Team were also shortlisted in the same category.
