Fagley residents hit by crime such as burglaries are set get help through £550,000 in funding as part of a national crime prevention scheme.

The money will go towards improving the security of local homes and measures such as fitting new street lighting and fencing.

It follows a successful bid to the Government’s ‘Safer Streets Fund’ involving West Yorkshire Police and Crime Commissioner’s Office, West Yorkshire Police, Bradford Community Safety Partnership and Incommunities.

Detail plans of the measures for the area will shortly be drawn working with residents.

Anna Fryer, Incommunities Director of Neighbourhoods said: "We are determined to work with local partners and Fagley residents to improve security and drive down crime and anti-social behaviour for the benefit of everyone.

"This funding will help make this happen."
